Roberts enter deep underground mines for demolition work II

Future trends

From ultra-deep mining to shallow subsurface applications, demolition robots can improve safety and productivity throughout the mine. A demolition robot can be placed on top of a fixed grid or blast chamber and allowed to break up large chunks without the use of explosives or any unnecessary material handling. The application possibilities of these robots are limited only by imagination.

By obtaining a wide range of optional equipment from innovative manufacturers, including equipment and components of various sizes, there is an opportunity to apply demolition robots to almost any high-risk, labor-intensive situation. The compact demolition robots are now available in various sizes from 0.5 tons to 12 tons, and the power-to-weight ratio of each specification is 2 to 3 times that of conventional excavators.
